A Titanic Clash of Cultures: America's Battle for Life and Liberty
America has reached a crucial fork in the road. Two paths lie before us, and each has its own culture, agenda, and destiny. Like it or not, and many will not, a choice must be made. Neutrality is not an option. Just as earlier generations of Americans were challenged to face their hurdles and destinies, we must now face ours.
Today are we witnessing a titanic clash of cultures that are dueling and battling for the heart, soul, and spirit of America. These cultures cannot coexist in peace and harmony, and there must be a decisive winner. Political posturing, shallow rhetoric, and meaningless debates will not resolve this epic struggle. Neither Democrats nor Republicans will save us. Our enemy is not the savages at our gate but the barbarians among us. America must exorcise her demons—and these demons are legion. At the center core of this conflict is the continuing saga and struggle for life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and our God–given inalienable rights for all Americans.
While one path celebrates a culture of life and liberty, the other path celebrates a culture of death and violence. To embrace one culture is to repudiate the other, and so it must be. America must make her choice as a nation, and we had better choose wisely and decisively for divine judgment is at our gate. Americans have traditionally celebrated and defended a culture of life and liberty that we inherited from our great Judeo–Christian heritage, forefathers, and pioneers. As America has drifted away from her spiritual moorings and slipped into rebellion and apostasy against the God of the Bible, a culture of death and violence has firmly entrenched itself into the fabric and being of our society and nation. Like a malignant cancer does this culture of death threaten our nation’s continued survival and posterity.
Ours is a spiritual and moral dilemma that transcends all political and cultural divides. Humanism, socialism, and psychology offer no viable answers or solutions to this dilemma. The stakes in this clash of cultures are simply way too high for careless neglect, lazy inaction, crafty semantics, misleading political labels, reckless gambit, or politics as usual. These are not issues to be aimlessly and endlessly punted back and forth between Democrats and Republicans for show and sport. It will take a national revival, and not just a national referendum, to stay God’s righteous hand of judgment.
Our culture of death and violence already has the blood of untold tens or hundreds of millions of innocent victims on its dirty hands. On–demand abortion alone has butchered and slaughtered many millions of innocent but unwanted babies as a matter of inconvenience. (Fetuses are human babies still inside the mother’s womb—they are not tadpoles, cattle, or malignant tumors). Not one of these cruelly aborted babies was ever given a “choice” in the matter. The abortion industry itself is one of the largest, richest, most politically active, and corrupt industries in America. No matter how you slice and dice this issue (no pun intended), abortion celebrates death and not life. So do war, violence, homicide, suicide, euthanasia, gang warfare, the drug cartels, organized crime, slavery, homosexuality, pornography, terrorism, barbarism, wife and child abuse, violent sports, and the Hollywood entertainment industry.
How many more millions must shed their blood in sacrifice to our culture of death and violence before a caring, compassionate, and intelligent people find the backbone and courage to put an end to the insanity and make a stand for our culture of life and liberty? Is it not the mark of a strong and compassionate people to pick up the good fight for life and liberty for those in society that cannot? Reason and faith say it is. With so much blood on our hands, we dare not force our fight and judgment on future generations. We must assume the responsibility for our own actions and inactions.
It will take some serious grit, determination, courage, and intellectual honesty to settle this clash of cultures before it rips our nation apart. We will need divine wisdom, faith, passion, motivation, vision, a broken heart, and a repentant spirit to face and overcome our demons and darkness. We will also need God’s divine hand and guiding light to see us safely through this long and dark night. We cannot claim to embrace life and liberty while continuing to mock and reject the God of all life and liberty. The time for action will only be right when we make it right—and that time must be now before more innocent blood builds up against our charge and revolving account.
There was a day in America when women, children, blacks, and Indians were treated like property and slaves. Each faced incredibly cruel and nearly insurmountable odds in their struggle for life and liberty, yet they persevered to victory. Today is it the sick, elderly, and unborn that cry for their life and liberty. Do we as a nation turn a deaf ear and a cold heart to their plight, or do we pick up the good fight and persevere on their behalf?
If we cannot, or will not, do this for the weakest members in our society, then perhaps America no longer deserves either life or liberty. These are strong words but true. Death or Life? This is a choice that should be obvious to all in our society. Where is their room on this issue for debate, disagreement, and compromise among a civilized people? There is not.
I encourage each of you to take up the good fight for life and liberty and to join me in shouting from the heavens, “Give us liberty for all or give us death!” Let there be a winner in this clash of cultures, and postpone not our glory or judgment. America—make your choice and live with your decision. Divine judgment will not wait long.
